This episode is hosted by Vida and Trevor. In today’s episode, we have returning guest Jason England and Bertrand Cooper to talk about their recent articles. Severe poverty was the backdrop to most of Bertrand’s life; today, he looks for avenues in education, research, and writing where he can either assist the poor directly or help others reflect upon that perspective. Jason England is an assistant professor of creative writing at Carnegie Mellon University. Today, the Sharks and guests discuss Black representation in pop culture. This topic goes so deep we had to drop the bit rate of the audio file just to fit it all in! This is a conversation you do not want to miss.

It’s back! White Canon returns with a breakdown of Donnie Darko. This episode is hosted by Trevor and Ken. Joining the Sharks for this round are Felix Biederman of Chapo Trap House and Jack Wagner of Yeah, But Still. Working thru the mysteries of the movie while paralleling the time period to their own childhoods, the Sharks and guests parse out the weird only to discover everything they thought the movie was about is not what its creator had in mind… One thing they DO all agree on though is, the soundtrack rips.

With that special Sharks perspective, Vida and Ken talk about everything that’s going on in the shadows of the entertainment industry. Using hip-hop as a point of convergence, they dive deep into the reality of what we are being fed vs what is being cooked in music, tv, and film.

This episode is hosted by Vida, Trevor and Ken. Ninjas are running thru the streets unsuccessfully rumbling and gang fights are going goofy. It’s the first of the month and sh*t is going down in the wild. Thank the lord the Sharks are here to keep it real and share some of the most wild stories on the Memory Ln. On todays ep they share some of the more wild times they had back in the day. Oh yeah, also, Ed Buck is guilty and no one but the Sharks are talking on it.
